Canoe to the Maya Laguna de On Island on Honey Camp Lagoon. Two populations are now known from the island, through mortuary patterns and radiocarbon dates. They date from 1000-1400 A.D. and are documented in the book by Marilyn A. Masson: In the Realm of Nachan Kan: Postclassic Maya Archaeology at Laguna de On, Belize. The Maya Island in Honey Camp Lagoon is a nice 1/2 hour canoe ride away, and has big trees, cloaked entrance, vulture nests and Maya remnants.
